A two-sport All-American in field hockey and lacrosse, Sarah Berheide Lamphier '06 earned a combined four National Collegiate Athletic Association All-Region and six Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association-Liberty League All-Conference awards. She was a formidable defender in field hockey, anchoring a defense that competed in three NCAA tournaments.  

An exceptional lacrosse goalie who is said to have "led the team from the net," she set every major program goalie record, including career goals against average (7.01), saves (621), wins (45), and save percentage (594). She was nationally ranked in goals against average and save percentage throughout her career. She played in both the North/South lacrosse and field hockey senior all-star games.  

Berheide was an academic all-star as well, earning College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America honors in 2006. That year, she also received the Dr. P. Timothy Brown Scholar Athlete and the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Scholar Athlete awards. She has built a distinguished career coaching lacrosse. After getting her start at Trinity College, Berheide went on to found the Women's Lacrosse program at Bard College. She is currently the head Women's Lacrosse coach at Guilford College.
