Skidmore College Athletics

This powerhouse team made program history with an unprecedented 30-15 record that included 16 Liberty League victories. Handily capturing the Liberty League Championship, the Thoroughbreds were ranked as high as 2nd in National Collegiate Athletic Association Regionals. They outplayed nationally ranked rival Rochester in four out of five games, achieving an astounding overall winning percentage of .667 (30-15). Their pitching staff led NCAA DIII in lowest hits allowed per 9 innings (7.6) and was 2nd in Earned Run Average (2.88).  

This dynamic and close-knit team boasted five Liberty League honorees, three ABCA/Rawlings Regional standouts and 10 Liberty League All-Academic selections. Ron Plourde was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and, together with his colleagues, garnered Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
