    Team of Distinction
This exceptional team completed the transformation of Men's Basketball from a floundering program into a nationally competitive force, laying the groundwork for a new culture of achievement on the basketball court. The first team to capture the Liberty League Conference Championship title, these legendary Thoroughbreds powered Skidmore's first foray into National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament play.

In the process, they put Men's Basketball "on the map.” Launching a remarkable run of Four Conference Championships, Three Regular Season Titles and Five NCAA Tournament appearances over the next seven years, the team inspired the entire Skidmore community - making national headlines when they tied for playing the longest game in NCAA DIII history, with a record 7-overtime win.

Coach Joe Burke observes, "These guys epitomize everything that the team of distinction honor stands for. They were and are men of great character who put individual accolades aside and bought into team success. A majority of them continue to come back to campus to support the program and the College."
