One of the most accomplished golfers in Skidmore history, Chris DeJohn reignited a legendary program through hard work and strong leadership. Together with his exceptional athleticism, these values lifted Chris and the team to the highest level of national competition.
Twice named Liberty League Player of the Year (2009-2010), Chris is a three-time Golf Coaches Association of America 1st Team All-American (2008-2010), one of just two Thoroughbreds to earn that distinction.
Scoring a career average of 73.7 in 41 events (88 tournament rounds), he captured nine individual tournament titles (2nd all -time record) and seven runner-up finishes. Chris holds a program record 31 finishes in the top 10 and four consecutive top-25 finishes at the NCAA National Championship Tournament.
Team co-captain his junior and senior years, Chris led the Thoroughbreds to four consecutive Liberty League Championships (2007-2010) and a rank of 3rd best golf team in the nation. A dynamic leader who motivated and inspired teammates, Chris powered the Thoroughbreds to success in Division I tournaments; they finished 1st in the 2008 George Washington Invitational and 3rd in the 2009 Yale Spring Open.
Former Athletic Director Tim Brown, who recruited Chris, recalls, “We were all thrilled when Chris chose to become a Thoroughbred. He remains one of the best players in the storied history of Men’s Golf.”
