Skidmore College Athletics Hall of Fame
There are few Skidmore golfers as prolific and inspirational as Jared Tendler '00. The four-time varsity letter winner competed in 57 collegiate tournaments, including four National Collegiate Athletic Association nationals and four Eastern College Athletic Conference finals. He captured first place nine times, finished in the top five 20 times, and powered into the top ten 31 times. Tendler is a four-time All-District selection (1996-2000), and thrice garnered All-American honors (1997-2000).

Team captain his junior and senior years, he helped guide the Thoroughbreds to victory at the highest level of national competition. The 1999-2000 golf team won seven tournaments, including the Williams, Palamountain, and Emory Invitationals. After scoring their third consecutive Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association title, the men captured third place honors in the NCAA Championships, and were ranked third in the nation by the Golf Coaches Association of America. In 2010, the team was inducted into the Skidmore Athletics Hall of Fame.

Honored as team MVP with the prestigious Talbot Award (2000), Tender capped his exceptional college career as a Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholar and Skidmore's Senior Athlete of the Year.

Today, he continues to golf competitively and has built a successful career helping golfers, poker players, and other professionals to mentally prepare for competition. Tendler holds a master's in counseling psychology from Northeastern University. Former Athletic Director and Head Golf Coach Tim Brown observes, "Skidmore is proud to claim Jared as one of our finest golfers and student-athletes. A leader on and off the course, his many academic and athletic accomplishments speak for themselves.
