One of Women’s Field Hockey’s most exceptional players, Hallory Mogren ’04 led the team as it achieved new heights competing on the national stage.

A two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association All-American (2001, 2003), Mogren was named an NCAA All-Region, an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association All-Star, and a UCAA All-Academic for three consecutive years (2001, 2002, 2003).

As a sophomore, Mogren helped the team advance to the NCAA semifinals for the first time in program history. Her junior year saw the team post a perfect 7-0 league record on the way to an NCAA quarterfinal run. As a senior, Mogren led the women to a 17-4 record, a second straight UCAA championship, and a third straight NCAA quarterfinal appearance. She finished the season third on Skidmore’s all-time scoring list with 49 goals and sixth in points with 113.

During Mogren’s career, the Thoroughbreds enjoyed a 63-14 overall and 24-4 league record with two Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association championships and three NCAA Division III tournament appearances.

In 2012, she was inducted into the Friends of Skidmore Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 2001 team. Coach Beth Hallenbeck reflects, “Hallory’s combination of high-level skills, power, and finesse made her an outstanding midfielder. Her calm demeanor belied the competitive spirit within.”
