This outstanding all-American midfielder is said to have put Skidmore Men's Lacrosse “on the map”. As a regional powerhouse and fierce national competitor, Bivona led the Thoroughbreds to the 2003 Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association championship game, beating 15th-ranked PI 14-13 in the semifinals. The team defeated 18th-ranked and defending league champion Clarkson 9-6 in the final regular season game, earning the Thoroughbreds the UCAA tournament berth.  

Setting the standing team record for points in a season with 74 in 2000, he tied the record for goals in a game with eight in a 12-9 win over Hartwick. Bivona remains Skidmore's all-time lead scorer with 118 goals and 95 assists for 213 points. Named UCAA Rookie of the Year in 2000, he was a three-time UCAA All-Star (2000, 2001, 2003) and UCAA All-Academic (2001-2003). In 2003, he was the recipient of Skidmore's Senior Athlete Award and selected as a STX/United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Third-Team All-American and UCAA Co-Player of the Year. He also played in the 2003 USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game.  

This exceptionally talented and versatile athlete was also a member of the Hall of Fame-selected 2001 Men's Soccer Team. He played three seasons of soccer with the Thoroughbreds, serving as captain his junior year.
