Skidmore College Athletics

This young team of six first-year players and a lone senior transformed Skidmore Women's Basketball from a struggling program that had averaged just four wins per season in the previous five years to a competitive force.
 
Led by team captain Suzette Soboti '91, the women enjoyed a seven-game winning streak that included first-time wins over rival Smith and future league foe Clarkson, going on to deliver the team's first winning season (15-10) in over a decade. The achievement qualified the Thoroughbreds for their first-ever New York State Women's Collegiate Association tournament.
 
Skidmore Hall of Famer Michelle Milot '94 led the team in scoring with 14.5 points per game and Sue Burns '93was a national leader in rebounding with 14.0 (and 14.0 points) per game. Eight players were multi-sport athletes, including Thoroughbred Hall of Famer Maria Nero '94.
