An exceptional player, Men's Golf talent Aaron Berthiaume '95 exemplified leadership as a student-athlete. He started all four years for the Thoroughbreds, serving as captain his senior year. A three-time All-American (1992, 1993, 1995), Berthiaume played in 50 college tournaments while at Skidmore, finishing in the top-5 13 times and in the top-10 18 times. He was a four-time All-District player as one of the top-10 players in the East.

His career highlights include playing in four National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Championships, helping the Thoroughbreds to a fourth-place finish in 1994 and a fifth-place finish in 1995. He was the team's top finisher in the 1993 NCAA Championships when he tied for 25th. He also played in four Eastern College Athletic Conference Finals and won four college tournaments (ECAC Qualifier and Skidmore, Toski, and Palamountain Invitationals).

As a senior, he was one of just two golfers nationwide to receive an NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship and, at the time, only the second Skidmore athlete to receive the award. Other honors Berthiaume received in 1995 included Skidmore's Senior Athlete Award and Senior Scholar-Athlete Award. Coach Brown Tim Brown remembers Berthiaume as being one of the most dedicated student-athletes he has known in 40 years of coaching. "Aaron's commitment to excellence was second to none. His work ethic was admired by student-athletes, faculty, and coaches."
