    Team of Distinction
This dynamic team elevated Women's Volleyball to an unprecedented level of regional and national recognition. The Thoroughbreds finished the season at 38-5, the best record in program history, and one that earned the program its first ever National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tournament berth. The first and only Women's Volleyball team to capture the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Championship, they were also Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association champions. Three players, Tina Hutten '01, Kathy Tschampel '02, and Courtney Lee '01, were named to the UCAA All-Conference Team, with Lee also honored as Player of the Year. Head Coach Hilda Arrechea and Assistant Coach Jerry Rodriguez were named conference Coaching Staff of the Year.

The team achieved some of the best rankings in the NCAA, including second in hitting percentage, sixth for match won/lost percentage, and 28th for kills per set. Individual performances were equally stunning, and included Lee breaking the NCAA single season record for service aces. Lee and Tschampel are FOSA Hall of Fame individual inductees.
