One of the most influential players in the history of Skidmore Men's Ice Hockey, Chris McMahon was instrumental in delivering 20 victories in 1995, a program first. Team captain during the 1996-97season, he led the Thoroughbreds to four straight Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association South titles and a 48-3-1 league record. Chris remains 4th in all-time scoring (65 goals and 102 assists for 167 points) and 3rd in all-time assists. His career record stands at 71-22-3.

He and Hall of Famer Joe Doldo '96 are credited with landing ‘the one-two punch' that powered the team's extraordinary rise to competitive powerhouse. Chris's influence, however, went much further. Former teammate Richard Jakub '97 observes, "He was a great passer, amazing shot and unrivaled point on the power play." Known as 'quarterback' of the team's defensive line, Chris's leadership, says Jakub, "made every one of us better players."

Named ECAC South Player of the Year (1997), Chris was a two-time ECAC First Team All-Star (1995, 1997) and garnered Skidmore's Senior Athlete Award. In 2010, he was inducted into the Skidmore Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 1997 Men's Ice Hockey Team.
