The 2001 Women's Field Hockey team had superior talent, game sense, and competitive spirit. The Thoroughbreds advanced to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Final Four, losing 4-1 to eventual national champion Cortland. The team finished with a 15-3 record that included a nine-game winning streak. Skidmore also finished second in the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association with a 6-1 league mark. Â
Taryn Howard Drake '03 was one of the nation's top offensive threats with a school-record 21 goals and six assists for 48 points. Hallory Mogren '04 added 14 goals and four assists; Colleen Barber '04 had eight goals and 12 assists. Goalie. Kristine Hodgett Osmond '03 had a 12-3 record with a 1.64 goals against and .864 save percentage. Â
Barber was a first-team All-America selection, while Drake and Mogren were second-team All-Americans. The three were All-North Atlantic region first-team and UCAA first-team all-conference selections. Osmond, Carrie Caunter '04, and Jaclyn Flanagan Nolan '03 were second-team All-North Atlantic and second-team all-UCAA. Barber, Caunter, Mogren, Osmond, Bond Caldero '04, Darcy Coonan '04, and Bridget Cummings Dorman '03 were UCAA All-Academic selections.Â
