Skidmore College Athletics

The 2001 Women's Field Hockey team had superior talent, game sense, and competitive spirit. The Thoroughbreds advanced to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Final Four, losing 4-1 to eventual national champion Cortland. The team finished with a 15-3 record that included a nine-game winning streak. Skidmore also finished second in the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association with a 6-1 league mark.  

Taryn Howard Drake '03 was one of the nation's top offensive threats with a school-record 21 goals and six assists for 48 points. Hallory Mogren '04 added 14 goals and four assists; Colleen Barber '04 had eight goals and 12 assists. Goalie. Kristine Hodgett Osmond '03 had a 12-3 record with a 1.64 goals against and .864 save percentage.  

Barber was a first-team All-America selection, while Drake and Mogren were second-team All-Americans. The three were All-North Atlantic region first-team and UCAA first-team all-conference selections. Osmond, Carrie Caunter '04, and Jaclyn Flanagan Nolan '03 were second-team All-North Atlantic and second-team all-UCAA. Barber, Caunter, Mogren, Osmond, Bond Caldero '04, Darcy Coonan '04, and Bridget Cummings Dorman '03 were UCAA All-Academic selections.
