There are few Thoroughbreds who performed with the talent, versatility and toughness of Anne Ledyard — in two sports. Anne set program and national records in both field hockey and women’s lacrosse; between them she collected a grand total of six All-Region and six conference All-Star awards.

In lacrosse, Anne’s dominance is evidenced by an astounding statistical legacy. She remains 2nd in program history for assists (55), caused turnovers (122) and ground balls (211). Anne is 10th in career scoring with 104 goals and 55 assists for a total 141 career points. Still Skidmore’s all-time leader in career draw controls (445), this includes 1st in single game (18) and single season (126). She led the nation in draw controls, earning her the National Collegiate Athletic Association draw control championship title in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

In field hockey, Anne was “hardworking, lightning fast and fearless,” notes teammate and Hall of Fame member Hallory Mogren ’04. A 2005 NCAA Field Hockey All-American, Anne received the 2006 Skidmore Senior Athlete Award.

Head Field Hockey Coach Beth Hallenbeck reflects, “Annie’s tenacious play, superior skill, fitness and competitive spirit set her apart as a player; as a teammate, she was equally distinguished by her unwavering dedication to both squads. She set a singular example of athletic excellence that will continue to inspire Thoroughbreds for years to come.”
