Skidmore College Athletics Hall of Fame
Women's Basketball standout Michelle Milot '94 graduated as Skidmore's all-time leading scorer with 1,313 points. She is currently third on the all-time scoring list. In addition, she is one of only two players in the college's history to finish with more than 1,000 career points and rebounds. She is second on the career rebounding list with1,088.
Â
The basketball program improved dramatically with Milot's arrival; after going seven years without a winning season, the team had four straight winning years, including three postseason tournaments. A complete and unselfish player throughout her four-year career with the Thoroughbreds, Milot is ranked 11th in career assists, third in steals, second in blocked shots, and second in field goals.
Â
Teammate Maria Nero Morin '94 says Milot was "an outstanding player, adept at handling the ball as well as scoring in the paint. She had an uncanny eye for creating passing lanes, making impressive shots, or creating a defensive stop."
Â
Milot, honored with a Senior Athlete Award in 1994, is quick to praise other players for the role they had in making Women's Basketball a winning squad. "We played as a team," she says. "Three other teammates also went over the 1,000-point mark, which shows how much we shared the ball.
