ROMEN, Ga. – Risa Fukushige shook off an opening round loss to post a dominating 6-0, 6-1 win to advance to Saturday's fifth place match in the 2018 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup being played at the Rome Tennis Center.
 
Fukushige, the Northeast region singles champion, beat Ginger Valentine of Gustavus Adolphus College to move into the consolation final. She will take on Dana Taylor of Carnegie Mellon University. Taylor beat Michelle Uyeda of Linfield College 6-2, 6-3.
