SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's tennis team lost 9-0 to defending national champion Williams College Saturday afternoon.
 
It was the first loss of the season for the 16^th ranked Thoroughbreds (5-1). The second ranked Ephs are 2-0.
 
Erica Meno was in the closes match of the day at number six singles, losing 7-5, 6-3 to Alex Stone.
 
Skidmore is at Mary Washington on March 18.
 
COACH SPEERSCHNEIDER:
Despite the loss, I feel like we competed hard and did a lot of good things that we've been working on.  A few of those sets could've definitely gone either way.  This match was kind of the ultimate way to work on things because Williams is obviously one of the best teams in the country.  We feel like we're in a good spot going into our Virginia trip and some big matches coming up.
