GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Skidmore College women's tennis team lost 5-4 to Washington and Lee University in the consolation round of the ITA Division III Indoor Championships being played at DePauw University.
 
Brianna Greene had a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) win over Meghan Buell at number two singles,

Skidmore (4-2) will play for seventh place later Saturday night.
 
"This match was literally each team putting out any able body," said Skidmore coach Curt Speerschneider.  "Both teams were beat up from yesterday and playing shorthanded.  We had our #1 and #2 players out, which makes things very difficult.  The players who were in competed super hard and we almost pulled out a big win, which was huge.  More importantly, it was absolutely great experience for us.  The tougher the situation, the more we're prepared for anything in the future.  This team is getting strong every day we're here."
