SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.--The 10th-ranked Skidmore College field hockey team opens a three-game Liberty League home stand Saturday against RPI.
 
The Thoroughbreds battled to a 2-1 win at No. 18 Williams on Tuesday. Gabby Hyman scored for the fourth consecutive game and Dani DeGregory tallied the game-winning goal, extending her point streak to five games. Sophomore goalkeeper Zoe McGuire made 10 saves, the biggest of which came on a penalty stroke with 15.3 seconds to play to preserve the 2-1 win. The Thoroughbreds are 7-0 when DeGregory scores at least one goal.
 
Skidmore has won 10 straight home games and 26 consecutive Liberty League home games. McGuire's .899 save percentage places her second in Division III, while Skidmore's 1.10 team goals against average ranks 23rd in the country.
 
SCOUTING RPI
RPI fell 6-1 to No. 4 Middlebury on Sunday after notching its first league win against St. Lawrence on Saturday.
 
RPI is third in the league in scoring average (3.00 goals per game), but only five of its 30 goals have come on the road. The Engineers are 1-3 in away contests this season.
 
Megan Jones has scored the game-winning goal in five of six Engineers wins this season. She is sixth in the league in points per game (1.90) and assists (5) and tied with teammate Jena Nawfel for sixth in goals (7). Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Kaufman made a career-high 13 saves against the Panthers. She ranks third in the conference with a .797 save percentage and fourth with a 1.25 goals against average.
