CANTON, N.Y. -- The 14th-ranked Skidmore College women's tennis team will attempt to capture its fourth straight Liberty League title Monday at 10 a.m. after defeating William Smith College 5-0 in the semifinals, Sunday morning at St. Lawrence.
The Thoroughbreds (16-3) swept doubles play to pull out to an early 3-0 lead.
Melissa Hirsch and
Rachel Plevinsky sealed the victory for Skidmore with wins at number two and number four singles, respectively. Hirsch cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sydney Arsenault and Plevinsky knocked off Casey Nicoletti 6-0, 6-4.
