ROCHESTER, N.Y.-- The top-seeded Skidmore College women 's tennis team quickly advanced to the Liberty League semifinals with 5-0 win over Bard College, Friday at RIT.
After a 3-0 doubles sweep, the 19th ranked Thoroughbreds (10-8) got shutout wins at number three and four singles to clinch the win. Skidmore will play William Smith in the semifinals on Saturday. It will be the first meeting of the season between the teams.
Melissa Hirsch beat Bard's Lia Soorenian 6-0, 6-0 at number three singles and
Caroline Hobbs beat Caia Diepenbrock 6-0. 6-0 at number four singles for the win.
