POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's tennis team continued its run through Liberty League opponents with a 9-0 win over rival Vassar College, Saturday.
The win evens the team's record at 5-5. The 20
th ranked Thoroughbreds have not lost a set in four Liberty League matches this year.
Nataly Mendoza beat Ava Sadeghi at number one singles 6-1, 6-3 and at number one doubles
with
Lee Ford, 8-4.
Melissa Hirsch and
Robyn Baird each posted three-set wins at singles.
"It was great to see everyone come together and play as a complete team,” said Skidmore coach
Curt Speerschneider. “Everyone played very focused from the first point to that last, which was the main factor. Every match was a fight and we showed a lot of mental and physical toughness winning all nine points the way that we did."
Skidmore will compete in the Nor'Easter Bowl April 4-6 at Wellesley College.
