Thoroughbreds breeze to Liberty semifinals

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Skidmore College women's tennis team lost just two games in Friday's 5-0 win over Bard in the opening round of the Liberty League Tournament.
 
The 17th-ranked Thoroughbreds will face the winner of the RPI-William Smith match, tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
 
In doubles action, the duo of Nataly Mendoza and Lee Ford were 8-0 winners at the #1 spot.  Melissa Hirsch and Yumi Karlshoej won 8-1 at second doubles, while the team of Alex Smith and Robyn Baird won by the same score at third doubles.
 
In singles play, Ford and Smith were 6-0, 6-0 winners at third and fourth singles respectively.  Skidmore was leading the other three matches taking place, while the fourth match had yet to start.
