Canton, N.Y. – Skidmore closed out its regular season with a 6-3 win at St. Lawrence in Saturday's women's tennis matchup at Newell Field House.
The Thoroughbreds (10-5) got out to an early 3-0 lead as they swept doubles. Junior
Nataly Mendoza and sophomore
Melissa Hirsch teamed up for an 8-4 win at number one doubles, while
Robyn Baird and
Tory Engros were 9-8(6) winners at number two doubles and
Delaney Scollan and
Rachel Plevinsky picked up an 8-6 win at number three doubles.
In singles action, Mendoza, Baird and
Sam Kogan were all winners for Skidmore. Mendoza and Baird cruised to wins a number three and number four singles, respectively, while Kogan was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at number six singles.
The Thoroughbreds return to action next weekend at the Liberty League Tournament.
