Schenectady, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's tennis team defeated Union, 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Union College Tennis Courts.
It was the first dual match of the season for the Thoroughbreds, while the Dutchwomen fall to 1-1.
Junior
Nataly Mendoza won 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles and teamed up with
Lee Ford for an 8-0 win at number one doubles. Ford also won at number two singles, 6-0, 6-2. At number two doubles, the pair of
Molly Nolan and
Robyn Baird won 8-0 and at number three doubles,
Zoe Valella and
Yumi Karlshoej picked up an 8-4 win.
Baird won 6-3, 6-0 at number three singles, while Nolan earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number four singles. Valella was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number five singles and Karlshoej won 6-1, 6-0 at number six singles.
Skidmore is at William Smith for the ITA Regionals this weekend.
