Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Skidmore College women's tennis team fell to Liberty League rival Vassar, 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Walker Field House.
Sophomore
Nataly Mendoza (San Francisco, Calif.) went 2-0 on the day for the Thoroughbreds. She defeated Joy Backer 6-4, 7-2 at number two singles and teamed up with
Tory Engros (Bronxville, N.Y.) to beat Backer and Nicole Block, 8-1 at number one doubles.
Freshmen
Melissa Hirsch (Alamo, Calif.) and
Molly Nolan (Montauk, N.Y.) suffered a tough defeat at number two doubles, falling 9-8 (9-7) to Jennifer Beckerman and Alyssa Roush.
Skidmore travels to Wellesley, Mass. this weekend, where they will take on TCNJ on Saturday and Wellesley on Sunday.
