Fredericksburg, Va. - The Skidmore College women's tennis team faced off against #6 Washington and Lee and the #13 Mary Washington this past weekend at the Fab Five Tournament at the University of Mary Washington.
The 24th-ranked Thoroughbreds fell to the Generals, 2-7 on Friday and lost 4-5 on Saturday against the host Eagles.
Against Washington & Lee, senior Danika Robison (South Burlington, Vt.) and freshman Nataly Mendoza (San Francisco, Calif.) defeated Lauren Caire/Ellen Yeatman, 8-4 at number one doubles and Rachel Loeb (Greenwood Village, Colo.) beat Ann Morris at number two singles, 6-0, 1-6, 6-0.
In Saturday's match against Mary Washington, Loeb and Brittany Trimble (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) each went 2-0. Loeb won 6-2, 6-2 at number two singles and teamed up with Trimble to defeat Valardi/Bowman 8-2 at number three doubles. Trimble also defeated Valardi 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at number six singles.
Skidmore is at the College of New Jersey on April 3.
