Christine Kemp scored three straight goals to lead the Skidmore College field hockey team to a 7-1 Liberty League win over Rensselaer Saturday at Thoroughbred Field.
The 11th ranked Thoroughbreds have won six straight to go 7-1 overall and 3-0 in Liberty League play, while the RPI is 0-8 and 0-2.
Skidmore put the game away early with four goals in the first 12:18 and six total in the first half.
Kemp had a hand in the first five Thoroughbred goals. She set-up
Carolyne McManama 4:44 into the game. She picked-up her second assist after tearing through the Engineer midfield on a breakaway, sending a perfect pass to
Elise Britt who connected for her 10th goal of the season at 7:15.
Kemp then scored the next three goals, including tallies 23 seconds apart at 11:55 and 12:18 and the third at 27:31.
Casey Tang closed out the first half scoring with her first of the season from McManama at 32:02.
RPI got on the board at 47:40 when Joanna Aliprando deflected Margaret Chowaniec's shot into the net for the team's first shot of the game.
Britt closed out the scoring at 64:12 from Ali Frey.
"This was another great team win for the T-breds," said Skidmore coach
Beth Hallenbeck. "In the first half the team showcased their intensity and skill resulting in a six goal outburst. Kemp was outstanding on offense, scoring three times and assisting on two others.

Carolyne McManama scored a goal and had a perfect assist on
Casey Tang's tally on a corner.
Elise Britt scored two goals, one in each half, with Ali Frey assisting on the second one.
Claire Superak anchored the defense again, allowing very few chances for the opposition. "
Skidmore had an 18-3 corner and 34-3 shot advantage. Thoroughbred goalie
Liz Catinella didn't have to make a save for her seventh win of the season.
Margaux Hoagland had one save in the second half for Skidmore. Sarah Burcher had 21 saves for Rensselaer.
Skidmore is at Middelbury College on Tuesday.
