Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College field hockey team will be playing for its fifth overall and second straight conference championship at 1 p.m. Saturday, when the Thoroughbreds host Hamilton College on Thoroughbred Field.

Skidmore (15-3) is the top seed and brings an eight-game win streak into the game that began with a 4-1 win over the Continentals on Oct. 10. The Thoroughbreds beat Union 5-0 in the semifinals. Hamilton (12-3) is seeded second and has won six straight since the Thoroughbred loss. The Continentals advanced with a 1-0 win over St. Lawrence.
The Thoroughbreds, ranked ninth nationally, are eighth nationally in goals per game (4.00) and 17th in goals against (1.15). Skidmore has outscored opponents 72-20 overall and 42-4 in the first half.
Two-time Liberty League Player of the Year, junior
Christine Kemp leads the Thoroughbreds in scoring with 18 goals and 13 assists for 49 points. Senior
Elise Britt gives Skidmore one of the nation's top 1-2 threats with 18 goals and five assists. Junior
Brittany O'Brien has contributed 13 goals and five assists, while junior
Katie Potter has five goals and seven assists.
On the defensive side, senior

Claire Superak have helped shut down opponents, while combining for four goals and three assists. Junior goalie
Liz Catinella is 13th nationally with a 1.00 goals against average.
Hamilton is led by Colleen Callaghan who has 11 goals and six assists for 28 points. Mary Lancaster has seven goals, while Amy Allen and Erin McNally have six goals each. Goalie Courtney DeMaria has a 1.46 goals against average.
