TROY, N.Y.—The Rensselaer men's tennis handed Skidmore College its first Liberty League regular season loss since the 2013-14 season, 6-3 Saturday.
 
The Engineers were the last team to beat the Thoroughbreds with a 5-4 win on March 30, 2014.
 
Skidmore is 3-1 overall and in league play, while RPI is 1-0 and 1-0. The teams are scheduled to play again on April 25 at Skidmore.
 
The Thoroughbreds were down 2-1 after doubles, with Connor Biernat and Brendan Jimenez posting an 8-4 win at number two.
 
Winning at singles were Zachary Portnoy 6-4, 6-4 at number three and Kevin Ha 6-0, 6-1 at number six.
