SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Six top-25 ranked teams from last season's end-of-year rankings descended upon the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center over the weekend for the Skidmore Open.
  • Four singles and four doubles draws made the event up as nearly 70 of the nation's top players competed against each other in the fourth-annual version of the tournament.
  • In singles, Yuval Goodman and Nathan Dolgushev reached the semifinals of their respective draws, while Alton Swan was the winner of the backdraw of the "D" bracket.
  • Three Skidmore doubles teams also earned match victories to wrap up a strong fall for the team.

  • In the singles "A" flight, Yuval Goodman won two matches to reach the semifinals. He worked an opening-round victory over Leon Liu of Williams in three sets, before defeating Middlebury's Noah Lewis in straight sets. He lost in three sets to eventual champion Cameron Zia of Bowdoin. The second set against Goodman was Zia's only dropped set of the weekend.
  • Ege Topbas lost his round of 16 match in the top draw to Denison's Chika Nwaozuzu in a tight 11-9 third-set tiebreak.
  • In the "B" singles flight, Radin Sadeghi defeated Swarthmore's Fate MacAlasdair 6-4, 6-4. In the quarterfinal, he came out on the wrong end of a 10-8 third set to Denison's Jackson Mactaggart.
  • First-year Nathan Dolgushev reached the semis of the "C" flight thanks to a straight-set win over Nicholas Choo of Swarthmore followed by a three-set triumph over Christian Stubbeman from Bowdoin.
