GENEVA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's tennis team excelled on Friday's first day of the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament being played at Hobart College.
 
All six singles players and two of three doubles teams advanced to play Saturday.
 
Second seed J.T. Wynne led the way with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tanmay Thakkar of Rochester. Jack McClaren, seeded 5-8, beat Eric Stein of Hamilton 6-1, 7-6 (3-7), 10-3.
 
The number one seeded doubles team of Wynne and Noah Williamson opened with an 8-2 win over at team from Union and an 8-5 win over a pair from NYU.
 
Play continues Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and concluded Sunday.
