KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A thrilling three-set victory by the Skidmore College men's tennis duo of junior
JT Wynne and freshman
Noah Williamson capped the first night of festivities, as the Thoroughbred pair advanced to the quarterfinal of the NCAA Division III Individual Championships, held on the campus of Kalamazoo College Friday.
The Thoroughbred duo hung tough against their first round opponent, Chaz Downing and Daniel Levine of Carnegie Mellon. After dropping the first set by a 6-4 score, the Thoroughbreds forced a tiebreak on the second set. With the score tied at six, Williamson and Wynne triumphed in the tie-breaking set by a 7-5 score. That momentum carried the pair into the third set, as they were able to earn the win after a 6-4 third set win. They will advance to take on the top-seeded duo from Wesleyan University, Noah Lilienthal and Adrian Roji, Saturday afternoon.

Wynne competed in the singles championship earlier in the day. It was a close first set for the junior, but he fell in straight sets to Chicago's Erik Kerrigan, 7-5, 6-1.
