WILTON, N.Y. – The No. 27 Skidmore College men's tennis team picked up a crucial non-conference victory in dominating fashion, defeating No. 29 NYU 8-1 at the Wilton YMCA Saturday morning.
 
Skidmore remains undefeated at 4-0, and will complete the weekend with a home Sunday match against league foe St. Lawrence at 11 a.m. NYU (2-1) drops its first contest of the season and will head west to take on Division I Colgate Sunday at 2 p.m.
 
Senior Steven Koulouris picked up a pair of big victories to lead the Thoroughbreds in this one. Playing at number one in singles play, Koulouris took on Umberto Setter, the top seed in the fall ITA Regional. After dropping the first set, Koulouris rallied to edge Umberto in the second set, before fighting through a contentious third set for the 2-6, 7-6(4), 13-11 victory. He is currently a solid 8-2 in singles action this season. Before the singles match, Koulouris teamed up with sophomore J.T. Wynne at first doubles, defeating Setter and Zeb Zheng by an 8-5 score.
 
Skidmore won two out of three matches in doubles, with senior Lucas Pickering and junior Travis Leaf picking up a 9-7 victory at #2. The Thoroughbreds swept the rest of the singles matches in straight sets for the victory. Leaf picked up an impressive victory at #3 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Michael Li, while Wynne defeated Rahul Das at #2, 6-3, 6-2.
