ITHACA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team earned its fourth straight Liberty League crown with a dominating 5-0 victory over Hobart in the tournament final, held at the Reis Tennis Center Sunday morning.
 
Skidmore, ranked 25th nationally, improve to 11-6 overall and have secured the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Skidmore has won 17 of the last 18 league tournament matches stretching back to 2010.
 
Hobart, ranked 16th in the Northeast region, falls to 15-5.
 
Skidmore was dominant in their three doubles victories. Kai Yuen Leung and John Wynne, the fourth-ranked doubles pair in the Northeast region, earned Skidmore's first point with an 8-3 victory over Alan Dubrovsky and Jonah Salita at No. 1. The pairs of Steven Koulouris and Travis Leaf as well as Nils Akesson and Lucas Pickering both won their respective matches at No. 2 and No. 3 by an 8-5 score.
 
In singles, Koulouris breezed by his matchup at No. 2, defeating Dubrovsky 6-3, 6-0 to put the Thoroughbreds at the brink of a championship. Shortly afterwards, Ted Berkowitz clinched Skidmore's championship point with his 6-1, 6-2 victory over Danny Kot at No. 6. Leung and Wynne were ahead in their matches when Skidmore clinched the victory.
 
With the win, Skidmore earns its 10th Liberty League Championship overall, advancing to the championship match 13 times. It was Hobart's third appearance in the league's title match, having faced Skidmore in all three occasions (2004, 2009, and 2017).
 
The Thoroughbreds now await a bid into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. The selections will be made on Monday, May 8.
