PITTSFORD, N.Y. – No. 23 Skidmore finishes the league season undefeated at 7-0 and wins its 28th straight league match after a 9-0 victory against RIT at the Mendon Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.

Skidmore, the 23rd-ranked team in the latest Oracle/ITA Division III tennis rankings, wins the regular season crown and improves to 9-5 overall. RIT falls to 2-11 overall and 2-5 in conference.

It was a dominant performance by the Thoroughbreds, giving up six points total in doubles and winning 5-of-6 singles matches in straight sets. The duos of Steven Koulouris and Jack McClaren at No. 2 as well as Nils Akeeson and Jason Keye at No. 3 each won 8-1 in their respective matches.

In singles action, Kai Yuen Leung remained unbeaten against league competition with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Chandler Daub at No. 1. McClaren was near perfect in his 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4 against Patrick Mathews. Akesson dropped the first set at fifth singles, but rallied for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory over Spencer Lowitt.

Skidmore will wrap up the regular season on the road Sunday at No. 13 Amherst, with the match beginning at 1:30 p.m.
