SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's hockey team heads to New Hampshire this weekend for a pair of contests in New England Hockey Conference play. The Thoroughbreds square off against Saint Anselm on Friday at 7 p.m., before ending the weekend against New England College on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
The Thoroughbreds (7-7-1, 6-2 NEHC) come into the matchup after scoring a season-high six goals to defeat Daniel Webster 6-1 on Saturday. Forward

The Thoroughbreds had a great day on special teams against Daniel Webster, tallying a season-high five power-play goals. Skidmore is third in the NEHC with 12 power-play goals in league action, and is second in scoring offense in eight league games, averaging 3.88 goals per game. On the other end, Skidmore sports a solid 86.0 percent mark in the penalty kill, stopping 74-of-86 power play chances.
Individually, Bird leads the Thoroughbreds with 13 points on eight goals and five assists. He is fourth in the league with his eight goals.
Corey Morgan leads all defensemen with 10 points on three goals and seven assists, and Cibelli leads the team with eight assists to go along with his two goals.
Saint Anselm comes into the matchup with a 7-6-1 record, and a 4-5 mark in league play. Last weekend, the Hawks returned to league play with a weekend split, falling to No. 12 UMass Boston on Friday before defeating Babson 2-1 on Saturday.
Forward Jérémy Carignan leads the Hawks on offense with 14 points on six goals and eight assists. Fellow forward Brendon Kerrigan is the assist leader with nine to go along with his three goals and Peter Sikalis leads all Hawks defenders with 11 points on four goals and seven assists.
Goaltender Shane Joyce has taken most of the starts in net for Saint Anselm. In 13 games, Joyce holds a 6-4-1 record with a 2.17 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

New England College comes into the weekend with a 10-5 record and a 6-3 mark in league games, tied with Skidmore for second in the league standings with 12 points. The Pilgrims will host Castleton on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before the Thoroughbreds come to town. New England College is currently on a two-game win streak after defeating ranked UMass-Boston 2-1 on the road and beating Salem State 1-0 on home ice.
Forward Carlos Fornaris leads the team in scoring, with 19 points on four goals and 15 assists. His 15 assists are second in the league and he is fourth in points. Forwards Andreas and Adam Zöllner, both brothers, as well as forward Connor Fries lead the team with seven goals apiece. Goaltender Brett Kilar has started 14-of-15 games between the pipes, sporting a 9-5 record with a 2.51 goals against average and a .937 save percentage.
