SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team won its second straight victory to open up the dual season, defeating Union 9-0 in Liberty League action at the Skidmore Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.

Skidmore improves to 2-0, while Union falls to 2-2. Both teams will be sending players to the USTA/ITA Regional Championships, held at Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. starting Saturday, Oct. 1.

For the second consecutive match, the Thoroughbreds swept in singles and doubles play. The duo of Kai Yuen Leung and Travis Leaf picked up an 8-2 win in the first slot over Union's David Brown and David Bond. Jason Keye and Nils Akesson completed the sweep with an 8-1 win over Justin Gold and Del Schunk.

The Thoroughbreds won every match in singles play by straight sets. Leung conceded just one point in a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Bond at the top slot. Leaf and Lucas Pickering each conceded two points in their straight set victories at third and fourth singles, respectively. Jack McClaren defeated Brown 6-3, 6-1 to complete the sweep.
