SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team will open the season at home Saturday against Babson College at 1 p.m.

It will be the season opener for both teams. Skidmore beat the Beavers 6-5 in overtime last season.

Tucker Kear will begin his Skidmore career with a talented mix of veterans and newcomers.

Among the top players returning to the line-up are sophomores
Brendan Halloran,
Ryan Warnock, and
Chris Baughan and junior
Kevin Mulvey.
Â
Halloran is the top returning scorer with 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points. Warnock won 53.6% of his face offs last season, compiling a team-high 60 ground balls. Â

Baughan started all 15 games in goal as a freshman, compiling a 10.07 goals against average and .543 save percentage.

Mulvey shook off an early season injury to finish third on the team in scoring with 18 goals and four assists for 22 points in nine games.

Skidmore's Liberty League schedule features three nationally ranked teams. National contender and defending league champion RIT is ranked third. Union College begins the season at 12 and Rensselaer is 20th.  The non-league schedule includes games with fourth ranked Amherst, William (also receiving votes), and defending North Atlantic champion Castleton University.
