Koffler, McFadden earn USILA Scholar All-America honors; Thoroughbreds receive Academic Team Award

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Skidmore College men's lacrosse program collected multiple academic honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) this month. David Koffler and Marty McFadden were named 2026 Division III Scholar All-Americans, while the program as a whole received an Academic Team Award honor.

Koffler, who was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Men's At-Large First Team this month, finished with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. McFadden posted a 3.67 GPA to also make the list.

The duo are the 16th and 17th Scholar All-America selections in program history, and also marks the second consecutive year Skidmore has had two student-athletes recognized. Previous honorees include Brian Gonsalves (2025), Collin Kuester (2025), Sam Ohotnicky (2021), Jack Curry (2018), Jack Metzler (2017), Kevin Mulvey (2016), Sam Christiansen (2015), Quinn Hawkins (2014), Michael Perlow (2013), Scott Grillo (2010), Kevin Robar (2008), Charlie McNeil (2007), James deGorter (2006), Chris Bivona (2003) and Brian McCawley (2002).

As a team, the Thoroughbreds posted a 3.433 GPA during the spring semester to qualify for the Academic Team Award. Skidmore was one of seven Liberty League programs recognized, joining Clarkson, Ithaca, RPI, St. Lawrence, Union and Vassar.
