Box ScoreSARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— A pair of power-play goals were the difference in a 3-1 Skidmore loss to Hamilton in non-conference men's hockey action Saturday afternoon at the Saratoga Springs City Rink.
 
The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 2-10-1, while the Continentals are unbeaten in their last five to go to 6-3-1.
 
Robbie Murden opened the scoring for Hamilton with a power-play goal from Brad Smelstor at 7:01 of the first. 
Anthony Bird tied it for Skidmore at 11:52 with his seventh of the season from 
Marc Cibelli and 
Adam Moodie.
 
After a defensive battle for most of the second period, Jon Stickel scored the eventual game winner at 18:32 for the Continentals. Tyler Lovejoy was credited with the assist.
 
Muden tacked on an insurance goal with his power-play score at 4:11 of the third from Lovejoy and Willett.
 
Oscar Flory had 26 saves in net for the Thoroughbreds. Tim Nowacki had 14 saves over the first 30:46 for Hamilton, while Evan Buitenhuis stopped all 16 shots he faced in relief.
 
Skidmore returns to NEHC play on January 8 at Southern Maine.
