ITHACA, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College men's tennis team won its second straight and eighth overall Liberty League title, 5-2 over Rensselaer Sunday at Cornell University.
Skidmore (12-7) is ranked 30th nationally qualifies for its eighth straight NCAA III tournament. Tournament pairings are scheduled to be released Monday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds won two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles.
Kai Yuen Leung and
Nick Tong won 8-0 over McKinley Grimes and Brandon Mazzara.
Leung clinched the championship with is 7-5, 6-4 win over Grimes at number one singles.
Kit Sanderson and
Ted Berkowitz also had singles wins for the Thoroughbreds.
