ITHACA, N.Y.—The 30th-ranked Skidmore College men's tennis team blew past Hobart, 5-0, to advance to its fifth straight Liberty League Championship match, Saturday evening at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University.

The Thoroughbreds, who extended their league winning streak to 12 matches, improve to 11-7, while the Statesmen end their season at 10-9. Skidmore has played in the championship match in 12

After sweeping doubles to take a 3-0 lead, Steven Koulouris won 6-3, 6-2 at number three singles and  Kit Sanderson beat Michael Fields 6-3, 6-2 at number two singles to clinch the match. The Thoroughbreds led in three of the four remaining singles matches. Koulouris also teamed with classmate Ted Berkowitz for an 8-3 win at number three doubles, while Sanderson and Lucas Pickering won 8-5 at number two.

Skidmore, which has won three conference titles in the last four years,  advanced to the Liberty League championship for the 12th time in 13 years. The Thoroughbreds take on the winner of the Vassar/RPI match at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3.
