SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College ice hockey team takes on a pair of nationally ranked opponents this weekend in its first home games of the season.

The Thoroughbreds dropped their first two NEHC games of the year, falling at New England College and Saint Anselm. Freshmen
Adam Moodie and
Corey Morgan each had a goal and an assist against the Hawks, while freshman netminder
Oscar Flory made 31 saves on 35 shots in his first collegiate appearance.

PACK THE RINKFriday's game against Babson is Skidmore's annual "Pack the Rink" game. The first 150 fans with a canned good will receive a "Pack the Rink" t-shirt and there will be additional prizes and giveaways throughout the game.

Babson is 2-0 after opening the season with a 4-2 win against Hobart and a 3-1 win against Curry. The Beavers went 19-6-3 in 2014-2015, advancing to the ECAC East Tournament Championship game before falling 3-2 to Norwich.

UMass Boston defeated Curry 4-3 in its opening game and downed UMass Dartmouth, 7-1, last Saturday. Junior defender Tyler Bishop had three assists against the Corsairs, while Matt Lemire had a pair of goals. The Beacons outshot UMass Dartmouth 62-23.

- UMass Boston had the most potent offense in the conference last season, averaging 4.78 goals per game.

- The Beacons, who went 3-for-7 on the power play against UMass Dartmouth, are 4-for-10 with the man advantage and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
