The Thoroughbreds go to 2-11-2, while the Bears move to 5-7-2.

The Thoroughbreds mounted the pressure early in the third and were rewarded on their second power play opportunity of the game.

Jack Sloan's point shot at 4:45. However, the lead was short lived as Potsdam's Matt Thompson scored on a Bears power play 1:58 later to knot the game at 1-1. Potsdam came close to finding the game-winner with just under two minutes remaining, but McDonald made a sprawling save to turn away Thompson's close range shot after a scramble in front of the Skidmore net.
The teams registered two shots apiece in the overtime period, but neither team could generate a quality scoring opportunity.
Potsdam outshot Skidmore 37-26. McDonald stopped 36 shots, including 14 in the second and 12 in the third, while Shane Talarico made 25 saves in goal for the Bears.
The Thoroughbreds return to ECAC East action Friday, Jan. 16, hosting Southern Maine.
