ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The top-seeded Skidmore College men's tennis team advanced to its fourth consecutive Liberty League final, topping Hobart, 5-1, in Saturday's semifinal match at RIT.
The 20th-ranked Thoroughbreds (12-7) swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead.
Oliver Loutsenko and
Jimmy Sherpa closed out the win for Skidmore with wins at number one and number two singles, respectively. Loutsenko, ranked third in the Northeast region in singles, cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win and Sherpa, ranked 24th in the region, defeated Michael Rusk 6-2, 6-0.
Skidmore will take on the winner of the other semifinal between No. 2 Rensselaer and No. 3 Vassar at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 4.
