CLAREMONT, CA -- The 26th-ranked Skidmore College men's tennis team was downed by #16 Pomona-Pitzer College, 6-3, Tuesday night at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
The Thoroughbreds (3-3) pulled ahead 2-1 after doubles play, but the Sagehens (4-1) rallied in singles, winning five of the six matches.
Oliver Loutsenko and
Danny Knight were winners at number one doubles, beating Chris Wiechert and Anthony Bello, 8-3, and
Jimmy Sherpa and
Nick Tong combined for a 9-7 win at number two doubles.
Knight notched his second win of the day at number four singles 6-3, 7-6 (5) and
Alec Hoblitzell came up just short in number three singles, falling in three sets to Connor Hudson 4-6, 6-1, 7-5.
Skidmore travels to Pepperdine University to take on Swarthmore College Wednesday, March 12 at 1 p.m.
