Rochester, N.Y. - The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team suffered a 19-10 loss to #8 RIT in Saturday's Liberty League matchup at RIT Field.
The Thoroughbreds fall to 5-9 overall and 1-4 in league play, while the Tigers improve to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in the Liberty League.
Skidmore got out to an early 2-1 lead after goals from
Richie Davis and
Mike Perlow, but RIT answered back with five unanswered goals. The Thoroughbreds trimmed the lead to 6-4 on back-to-back goals from
Jon Hoeg and Perlow before the Tigers responded with a 4-0 run.
Perlow was able to cut the lead to five, but goals from Tyler Brooks-Lambert and Kyle Aquin gave RIT a 12-5 lead at the half.
Perlow tallied a man-up goal, his fourth of the game, to open the second half but another Tiger run made it 16-6 after three.
Skidmore was able to get back on track offensively in the fourth, getting goals from Hoeg,
Brian Milazzo,
Matt Ohara and
Tyler Masters but was unable to get any closer as RIT picked up the 19-10 win.
Perlow finished with four goals and an assist and now has 36 goals on the season. Hoeg added two goals and an assist to go along with four ground balls, while Davis finished with a goal and two assists.
Matt Diaco took the loss as he played the first 16:14 and freshman
Drew Butturini played the final 43:46.
The Thoroughbreds close out the season this Saturday when they host Union for a 1 p.m. faceoff.
