Box Score

Hartford, Conn. - Jon Hoeg scored 2:03 into the first overtime to lead the Skidmore College men's lacrosse team to an 11-10 victory over #16 Trinity, Saturday afternoon at Jessee/Miller Field.

The Thoroughbreds improve to 2-2, while it was the season opener for the Bantams.

Trailing 10-9, junior Mike Perlow netted the game-tying goal with just 1:10 remaining to force the extra period.  Skidmore senior Ryan Paradis won the faceoff to give the Thoroughbreds possession and Hoeg took advantage as he fired a shot past Trinity goalie Peter Johnson for the 11-10 overtime victory.

Skidmore started out strong, getting out to a 5-2 lead behind four first quarter goals from Perlow.  The Bantams came back to score four unanswered goals and take a 6-5 lead into the half.

The Thoroughbreds tied it up just 13 seconds into the second half on a goal from Brian Milazzo before the Bantams answered back with two goals to take an 8-6 lead.  Skidmore answered right back, scoring three unanswered goals to take the lead before Trinity took the lead back with back-to-back goals.  But Skidmore rallied as Perlow took advantage of a late opportunity and tied it up before Hoeg netted the game-winner in overtime.

Perlow scored six goals to lead the offense as Hoeg, Milazzo, Richie Davis, Quinn Hawkins and Tony Baum tallied a goal each.  Senior Connor Dowling finished with 11 saves, while Paradis won 19-of-25 faceoffs and had 13 ground balls.
