Canton, N.Y. - The Skidmore College tennis team defeated Vassar, 5-4 in Sunday's championship match at St. Lawrence, claiming its eighth Liberty League title.

The Thoroughbreds defeated St. Lawrence 9-0 in the semifinals to reach the championship and are now 10-7 on the season. 

The number two doubles team of Luke Granger and Yahia Imam picked up a hard fought 9-8 (5) win over Andrew Guzick and Max Willner and the number three doubles tandem of Alex Fromson and Oliver Loutsenko earned a 8-6 win.

In singles action, Loutsenko picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at number two singles and Yahia Imam and Alex Fromson won at number four and number five singles, respectively.

Skidmore hopes to be making its fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
