Saratoga Springs, N.Y.— Freshman Melissa Hirsch beat Cassie Smith 6-1, 6-4 at number one singles to lead the Skidmore College women's tennis team to an 8-1 win over Connecticut College, Sunday at Wenger Courts.

Hirsch also won 8-2 at number one doubles with Nataly Mendoza. Mendoza beat Becca Heupel at number two singles 6-1, 6-2. Tory Engros had a 6-1, 6-2 win over Caroline Barone at number three singles and teamed with Molly Nolan for an shutout 8-0 win at number two doubles.

The Thoroughbreds travel to the ITA Regional Sept. 25-26 at William Smith College.
